I frequently find myself drooling over Angry chickens food blogs, and I realized something after visiting the farmers market today. I want to eat what I would consider beautiful food, hence the picture of the fresh picked carrots. What a nice sight compared to the ugly bagged old carrots fro the store. Now I just need to plant a veggie patch.
Take a look around

Sunday's in the summer
I think I have found my new thing to do on Sunday's in the summer. The Ladner farmers market. Although I didn't really see much in the way of farmed goods, there were lots of crafty people, lots of plants and what looked like some good eats. Tones of people which made it a little hard to navigate with a stroller, but all in all a good one.
I have been madly cutting out doll parts, I figure I have about 40 skin sets (that sounds so wrong!)
I have rescued some chickens, pictures to come, and have fallen in love with 4 in particular. A crazy frizzle Cochin chick, a little brown chick, and old bald headed red hen with a tumor on her head and a pretty perfect little red bantam hen, that apparently will win some ribbons if I am so inclined.
Well I am off to cook a lovely little salmon for dinner, yum yum, with marks favorite spread soaking it with flavor.
1 cup of brown sugar
2 tsp of powdered mustard
juice of one lemon
3 tbsp of melted butter
mix together, spread on inside of fish, let sit as long as you can, and cook as normal ( i BBQ)

Home, Holidays, Happy Face
I am home from my trip to Nelson. Nelson is one of my favorite places. I have been going there forever and I usually only get there once a year now that I am an "adult". I Love it that I have family there to stay with, my Mom is from there and a few of her sisters and brothers have stayed. I told myself that this time around I would go into a few places that I have never been to before and I did. I was pleasantly surprised. THeKootenayCo-op Was great and I actually managed to find a copy of Mothering Magazine which I have heard about by could not find for the life of me. The funniest thing I saw while I was there was a shopping basket full of navy blue HoleySoles with a little sign that said "for our barefooted customers, please borrow while you shop" only in Nelson!
Well I am back home and working on the dolls, some new projects, which I am very excited about and something that I can talk about. I found a wonderfully cool company called Spoonflower that custom prints fabric. I thought I have to jump on this. Having no idea how to do anything with designing, and using fancy software, I knew exactly who to call...my fantastically talented and artsy cousin Simone. She worked hard and fast for me and got a perfect design done for my new cloth tags. If you go to the spoonflower website and take a look at the video and you can have a sneaky peaky at what the tags look like. Go to 58seconds, and there we are!!! just for a second!
Well I just picked up my sewing machine from the shop and I am ready to get going. I looked at some really fancy embroidery machines and the thought of getting rid of this old thing made me a little sad. I will never admit that to Mark though :)

New girls available on Natural Pod tomorrow!
Well amidst packing and going to see SEX and THE CITY (which was awesome by the way) I have gotten the new girls all packed up and on their way to NAturalpod I tried something new with one of the girls this time and gave her a pair of black glasses. I have called her "Smarty Pants" because of the glasses and of her numbered dress. I really liked this fabric and couldn't wait to use it. I also used my new hair color (orange) and it turned out nicely too. I think I secretly wish I had red or orange hair, those dolls always seem the best to me!
I have a few things up my sleeve but you will have to check back for that as I am anxiously awaiting it's arrivial...

My sewing machine is sick :(
My poor machine has gone in for a tune up, Mark wanted to take it to his "guy" I had no idea my husband had a sewing machine guy. It is going to be gone for 3 weeks... good thing I finished 7 dolls today. I will have to borrow my Mom's machine if any pressing orders come up. I will post pictures tomorrow of the new girls. I actually had a custom order for a little girl in Edmonton I had a lot of fun making it, it was kind of fun to try and find fabric for a specific doll. I think that she turned out really nice.
I am going out of town for a few days and I am going to use the opportunity to do some drawing and brainstorming for some new ideas for some new dolls. I have a boy doll in mind and a few other ideas that I am not going to reveal right now, you will just have to wait and see.
Not much else is going on right now, but my main plan for tomorrow is to see the new Sex and The City Movie!
Can't wait!!!

Great Review from Sara's Toy Box
Has just written a really nice review on my dolls. All this publicity is making me blush!
Go check it out!
Baby Eats
Naturalpod has teamed up with a new place in North Vancouver called BabyEats. Baby Eats is a combination of a Cafe with really great food, a friendly safe play area for kids and a hip hangout that also carries Natural Pod Items. A great combination for kids and their parents. The play area is safely separated from the main entrance and is chocked full of Natural Pod toys and other safe, natural organic shaped toys. We stopped by there the day after they opened to check it out, and even though we couldn't stay you could feel the good vibes. I will definitely be going back there to grab a bite to eat when Poppy gets a little bit older to play.
While your there check out the Poot & Boogie Dolls on the retail wall!
