mothers day

Every year I sit here and struggle to put into words just how thankful I am for having my Mom, and every year I feel like I come up short. There are not enough words to describe how much my mom means to me. She is reliable and so helpful to me with the girls, she is my advisor, my sounding board, by reasoner. I call her every morning before she heads for work and no matter how quickly she is trying to run out the door she always takes a few minutes just to say hello. Sometimes if I call and I have missed her I get my Dad on the phone, he always tells me that I just missed her, and I hang up disappointed.

My Mom is retiring next year on her birthday and I am so excited for her to get to do whatever she wants every day, and hopefully we will get to see her even more.

Thanks for all that you do Mom. Without your help I wouldn't be able to "run away" for a few hours and gather myself back up again to do the best job I can with my girls.

I love you.

(luckily for my Mom I couldn't find the picture I wanted to post here... Let's just say it involved a perfectly placed sign, lots of skin, and a barrel!)
