Merry plastic Christmas

Ok so I have been hesitating to write this post...

Why? you ask...

It's my 200th post!

I wanted to do something spectacular! Something to WOW you! Something! Anything!

but... you are just getting a regular post. sorry...

Christmas preparations are being made, Santa has received his laundry list of items from Poppy. I have tried to grab as much as I could, however she changes her mind daily on what Santa should be bringing her. I have resorted to telling her that Santa merely uses her list as a guide and picks the best gift for her, which might be on her list or it might not be.

Lucky kid I think she's getting it all. But let me be a little more specific.

She is getting 4 gifts, one of which is a nightgown. She is also getting... ugh... a Baby Alive. Do you know what this doll is? It "poops" and "pees." You are supposed to buy it "food." You are supposed to buy it disposable doll diapers. Buying this doll went against so many things that I believe in. I literally went to the store 4 times. I picked up the doll. I read the package over and over. I tested it by pushing the button to make it "cry." I seriously took the doll sat down on the floor in the doll aisle and stared at this over priced, over packaged, overly creepy plastic doll. As a mom who makes dolls (just in case you didn't know) I know that this doll will have it's day of excitement, Poppy will "feed" it, and let it "drink" it's packaged "juice" and change the one diaper it comes with. Then I am going to break my child's heart and hand her the cloth diapers that I am going to sew her baby, and then I will show her that her doll is only allowed to eat and drink water. I am so mean, I know.... but seriously. A doll that poops and pees? Give me a break.

Poor baby alive...she is destined for the floor, possible a lovely dark corner under the bed. Don't worry, she will have dust bunnies to keep her company.

I just imagined a Toy Story type nightmare. This Baby alive is going to come alive in the night and plan an attack on me.

I dare her.

My Poot & Boogie girls will kick her ass. My girls are old fashioned. They don't mess around.

So in honor of all things that are old fashioned and awesome I am giving away a custom Poot & Boogie doll!

Yup! Gotcha! Told you I was going to do something fun!

So you comment here...

I am going to go Tweet about it. I never tweet... ever... seriously.

Then I am thinking I might make a Facebook page.

I will let you all get your comments in and I will do a draw on January 1st. Let's start out 2011 with some giveaways!

YAY CLOTH! BOO PLASTIC!

brilliant... I'm sure someone got a nice bonus figuring out a way to make people buy "refills" for a doll. Next version will probably cry if you try to feed it anything other than the "special juice".

I would LOVE to win a doll!

This year, my 5 1/2 year old asked for a Pentatonic Kinder Lyre. I can't believe it. Usually, all she wants is Barbie this and Disney that. Of course, now I have to ASSEMBLE the Kinder Lyre, so we'll see how I feel once I've done that.

They still make Baby Alive dolls?! LOL! A friend of mine in elementary school wanted one sooo badly, and she got one, only to have the "food" go all rotteny inside it & it stunk so bad she didn't touch it again! I think in the end her older brother stole it and that was the end of that lol!

Your dolls kick that Baby Alive's a$$ big time! & congrats on getting them the store- that is awesome!!

Uggh! I am so sick of plastic dolls. They are just so un-real. My DD just got a Baby Stella for Christmas and she is at least soft and cuddly, but still has a million add ons that make her ridiculous! I am impressed though that the doll looks like a biracial black/white mix. It is the first doll I have seen that is a close representation of my girl!

Awesome dolls! I really like your customized dolls. You're very talented. Well, I haven't bought a doll that poops and pees for my daughter, Heather. However, she collects American girl dolls, clothes and accessories for dolls and doll books. She happily announced to me yesterday that she received a package from her Aunt which include American girl doll clothes. Lately, she's also interested with non-plastic dolls. Thanks for exciting post!
