Handmade toys illegal?

I don't know how many of you have heard about the Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act that is coming into effect Feruary 10th, 2009. With this act comes new laws that would make it iilegal for me to sell my dolls in the USA without 3rd party testing to prove that my dolls don't contain lead and phthalates. This testing costs a lot of money, money which I cannot afford to spend. This new law is going to decimate small toy manufactures and toy makers, and force us all into buying hard plastic yucky toys. Click the link -------------------------------> and check out the information, send an email or two and sign a few petitions!

I clicked the link and joined the Facebook group. Of course we all want to keep toxic chemicals out of our toys, but there's got to be a better way.

WHAT? I've not heard of that and the link isn't working for me. Can you email me the info Leanna? How did you hear about it?

Never mind I got the link to work. That is a great idea for huge megs productions but little handmade homemade things is a bit or rather extremely ridiculous! I guess it will promote Canadian shopping...but that doesn't make this whole thing sensible at all.
