Between Christmas and New Years

I find this time to be a very relaxing and slow time of the holidays. I didn't make it out for Boxing day, instead stayed home with a sick hubby, baby, and me. I plan on getting out and about tomorrow, after a chiropractor appointment (fingers crossed, I don't have it yet) I want to go to Michaels and check out their yarn sale. Winter always makes me want to knit and play with yarn. We will see what gets accomplished.

I hope you are enjoying your quiet time and are staying safe if you are traveling home from visits with family.

Take care.

Merry Christmas!

These are 2 little nutty Christmas mice I made to look like a few my Granma made years ago.

We have just finished up with my hubby's family Christmas, and have tucked our little one in for the night. We have to set up presents for tomorrow and then we are off to sleep.

We would like to wish you and yours a very happy holiday season. Be safe on our crazy roads, and enjoy your time with friends and family.

Cheers

A white Christmas....

We are all huddled up in our place today keeping warm and watching the birds in the snow. Poor things I should go buy some seed.

The last of the Christmas Girls

I met up with my last custom order customer yesterday and delivered her 3 orders for her daughters and neice. It was nice to meet you M. I miss getting to chat with the custom order customers through email. Now that the customs go through Natural Pod I don't get to talk to you first :( If you recived a Poot & Boogie doll for the holidays feel free (if you wish) to email me. I would love to hear how your little girls...and boys liked their dolls.

Feeling a little merry

Beaded Bird

Mouse in a teacup, reminds my of my grandma's ornaments

Itty Bitty knitting basket

The naked tree

Well I finally got the tree up last night in the wee hours. I love the way the tree looks just with the lights on. P and I tried to decorate the tree, but she doesn't quite understand why she can't just keep the ornaments :) Our tree is decorated on the top half and mostly with non breakable ornaments this year. I took a few pictures of my favorites just to share.
It is really snowing right now, and driving in the snow scares me a little, so I am glad that I have a reason to stay home to wrap presents, and cuddle up on the couch and watch the snow fall.

Handmade toys illegal?

I don't know how many of you have heard about the Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act that is coming into effect Feruary 10th, 2009. With this act comes new laws that would make it iilegal for me to sell my dolls in the USA without 3rd party testing to prove that my dolls don't contain lead and phthalates. This testing costs a lot of money, money which I cannot afford to spend. This new law is going to decimate small toy manufactures and toy makers, and force us all into buying hard plastic yucky toys. Click the link -------------------------------> and check out the information, send an email or two and sign a few petitions!

some ramblings....

Santa and I at the Santa Shuffle 5km run

The deadline for Christmas orders has come and gone, and I have 7 left to sew in the next couple of days. I will be doing that as soon as I am done here. The past year has been very exciting for me. Making dolls, meeting people, making covers! would not have been possible without the support of the folks who believe in Poot & Boogie. Thanks GUYS!!!

In other news...
I have given in and relinquished some of my power and let Mark step in and help out with the doll making. This past week has been hectic and with P getting sick, and our little dog being sick as well, I have been stressed with the deadlines looming. My hubby has stepped up to the plate and helped me out enormously. For those of you that know us personally you can imagine that adding doll making to the list of Marks to do's is huge. Thanks HUNNY!!!

I have discovered a new radio station and those of you in the lower mainland should turn your dials immediately. I swear I have not changed the station in 3 days!!! I cannot find a website for the station yet, don't know why but it's an "adult alternative rock station playing new and emerging artists, and alternative bands form the 80's and 90's" LOVE IT!!!

I found this Dwight Schrute pin on ETSY last night, I love the Office and I think I need this pin!

I have been taking a Learn to Run program with the Running Room, and it has been hard, but good even amidst the tears! I spontaneously decided to sign up for a race the night before. It was for a good cause (The Salvation Army) and it was so good. I had already set a goal for myself to race in a triathlon in June, but now I am in race mode. I have so many that I want to take part in and I think that I have my cousin (my other running buddy) talked into a Duathalon at UBC in March. 5km run, 11km bike and then another 5km run! OI!

Umm... I guess that's it. I am out of things to say. Here I go to sew!

LAST DAY!!!

Today is the last day to order your custom doll through Natural Pod. The dolls will be ready for Christmas. So hop on over there!

Tuesday, December 2, 2008

oh Tuesdays how I love and hate you...

I had a run tonight, it went well overall this week. I made Mark be my "buddy". He stayed with me the whole time making me feel less worried about being left on my own. He was a trooper and even got a good job from the instructor! I think I have him wrangled into going with me now, and I got permission from the instructor (who asked all of my running mates) to bring P along in her running stroller, so now I can go to the practices. yay!

I have been busy with customs for Christmas, sewing after P goes to sleep, and I have 3 more ready to stuff tomorrow while she is playing. I don't dare bring her around the machine yet.

Well off to sleep now every muscle is aching, and the bed is calling.
