Festive

I hope you all like the "sprucing up" that I did for the holiday season. I was tired of looking at the same old blog, and needed a change for the holidays.

I hope you are all well tonight I have spent the evening cutting out custom dolls, and enjoying the first glass of eggnog this year (cut in half with skim milk of course!)

busy busy

As for everyone this season is busy, I always try to keep low key and low stress, but this year is feeling a little more hectic. This is my first year for doll orders, and I knew it was going to be busy! thanks guys so much for all the dollie love!

Between orders I am trying to make some other gifts for family and friends, but have bought a few things from ETSY this year. At least I know it was handmade.

As some of you may know I keep fancy chickens as a hobby, they are pets, and most of the time we don't even eat the eggs! unfortunately some birds that I rescued this past summer have caused my old ladies and our favorite rooster, to get a respiratory infection. We had the vet out but after a week of meds in their water no luck and i think that they actually got worse. So I am now medicating every chicken ( there is 18) twice a day with a syringe in the mouth to get them better. It takes me over a half hour, but it is well worth it to keep them with me. The vet was actually impressed with the new diagnosis that I had made on my own after reading up on birds diseases and viruses. It makes me want to get back into the veterinary field...but that is a whole other post in itself.

I have taken up running, well trying to anyways. I see my new friend Cathy there on Tuesday nights running with her half marathon group. I had a rough run tonight, not bad really, but I am slow and was at the back...let me re-phrase that.....at the waaaayyyy backkkkk. I kept a really good pace I thought, but just couldn't keep up with the group. I managed to finish the night, but at the end the whole group waits for the stragglers, and it was just me. They were clapping, and saying way to go, which is so nice, but really hard to hear when you are disappointed with yourself. Being at the end every time was my excuse to quit last time. It was easier than facing them every week. I managed to choke back the tears, until I saw Cathy...then I cried!! Thanks Cathy for the encouraging words, and the " I know you can do it!" I appreciate the shoulder to cry on literally!

All will be well, but right now I am going to soothe my aching hip in a tub and I am going to slide myself off to sleep on my new 700 thread count sheets!

lack of posts

Sorry for the lack of posting, I have been busy sewing custom dolls, and trying to get used to my new machine. Don't get me wrong I like the new machine alot, but my old one and I had a special groove going on. I knew every corner, and every stitch, this one not so much. I do think the dolls are sewn really nice though and that is all that really matters. I will get used to it, it will just take a little bit of time.

We now have a deadline set for custom orders through Natural Pod and it is DECEMBER 5th. No more Christmas orders will be done after that point. I am really trying to focus on family this year, and getting out and doing cheery holiday things.

well I am off to bed and to nurse a sore hip from my running.

it's been a long week...

A long no sewing, sitting on the couch, cuddling week.

I have done nothing, except buy groceries.

But...today is a new better feeling day and we are on our way to my favorite quilting shop to find some treasures, and then off to Value Village to get some more.

Tonight is going to consist of custom doll sewing, on my brand new machine!!!

Little show in Maple Ridge

I got to go to a little crafty meet moms day in Mple Ridge today. It was nice to get out without P, even though I felt horrible leaving her with my Mom as she was feeling under the weather! Thanks MOM!!! I had a good time chatting and talking babies, dolls, crafts, hairclipies, tutu's, and whatever else! It was nice to meet some new friends. Hi Cynthia, Gillian and Debbie!!!

Cynthia and Gillian have a wonderful new business together called Tutu Bebe. They make really cute hair clips and tutu's. The tutu's brought back memories of when I was in ballet as a little girl. The hair clips are really well made, and super cute. I bought 3! I think one I am going to keep for myself and use it as a brooch for my jacket! They have lots of great colors and are taking custom orders right now! Go get one!

Thanks for the lovely day ladies!
