A doll for Chloe

When I get custom orders, most of the time I email the customer to ask a few questions about the little girl that is getting it. I received some really cool information about this little girl, like she speaks in mostly Icelandic and that her Mom was having this doll made because she ad a Doll as a girl with striped legs. Too cool.

A quiet Saturday

P was up really early this morning, and is sleeping quietly on the couch beside me. She always takes her naps on the couch, I am not sure why, but if I attempt to move her into her crib, nap time is over, so I let her be.

I have no big plans as of yet for today, just a quiet hang around day I think.

I do have 4 customs mostly done, but just didn't feel up to it last night. I feel if I rush it they don't come out as nice as they would if I am really into it. I think I will rent the Sex and the City movie tonight and sew.

Sounds like a plan.

no fancy title tonight

I had a good day today. I made some new friends that I can't wait to hang out with. I got to go to Ikea and hang out with my hubby, and I got four custom dolls all cut out and ready to sew tomorrow.

I had posted earlier about my triathlon and I have taken steps today to work on that goal. I got back on my healthy eating plan, and made it through the first day, which to me is always the hardest.

I had a really nice lady come up to me in Ikea today to tell me how much she really liked my hair! that's always nice. I was looking at myself in the mirror tonight while I was brushing my teeth and noticed quite a few silver hairs, and I actually like them. I am going to leave them be.

Hope you all had a nice day too.

Triathalon? :( :)

I think I might have mentioned earlier on that I was going to see a personal trainer. I had told him that one of my fitness goals was to be able to compete in a triathlon in June of 2009. I was doing really good, and then I fell off the wagon, bumped my head and than got run over by the tires!

I have lost all that I have gained strength wise. I feel defeated and I don't know what to do to get re-psyched. My Mom and hubby can say all they want, but until I feel it, there's no point.

hmmm...

better cover photo

I promised a better photo and now that I actuall have a copy in my hot little hands I am happy to oblige.

My laptop crashed the other day, and thankfully I have it back now. I hate to admit that I felt lost and out of touch without it.

I heart etsy

BROOKE CLOSE YOUR EYES!! and cover Aayla's
I visit a lot of websites everyday. Etsy is always a stop on my list. I have just purchased a stuffy for my friends daughter and I wanted to share her here. Isn't she cute. I was thinking to myself "I would love to make a bear like this...hmm.... " Then I was at the grocery store trying to find a copy of Canadian Family. Yes I still don't have one, and I saw the holiday issue of Martha Stewart, and she has toys made from sweaters in it. Looks like I found some patterns! YAY!

If you like the stuffy above go check out the POGO shop!

done and done... and random facts about me!

I have been neglectful of my blog lately, I am sorry. I have just finished up a batch of 10 dolls that are on their way to Natural Pod and 4 customs. It has been a busy week and I have fallen behind on things like laundry and dishes.

I was tagged by Cynthia and here are my answers...

Here are the rules: Link to the person who tagged you. Post the rules on your blog. Write six random things about yourself. Tag six people at the end of your post. Let each person know he or she has been tagged. Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

**Random Facts About Me**

1. I was a dancer for 17 years. I did everything...ballet, tap, jazz, modern, stage. I got fat when I stopped dancing and sometimes I really miss it. Especially tap. I signed up for an adult class once, but it was cancelled. :(
2. I really like to eat bread, butter and cheese If I could live off of this food I would. The fancier cheese the better.
3. I have 3 tattoos and I really like tattoos in general and I would have lots and lots, but my hubby isn't as big of a fan as I am. I will be getting more. Cynthia don't be scared, you gave birth, you can handle the pain. It's not that bad.
4. I really wanted to be a vet when I was a kid, and sometimes I think about going back to school and doing it. I would be the oldest in my class, but....
5. I secretly have a crush on Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs. That's all I will say about that.
6. My guilty pleasure is to look at Perez Hilton's website everyday. I really hate the hollywood scene and drama, but I love to get the latest dish.
7. ***BONUS***I read Post Secret every Sunday and if I was to post a secret it would be...I feel realy bad turning my back on my dog when we are asleep, so I turn it on my hubby! (that's bad, I know)

I have to think about who to tag, everyone I would tag has already been tagged :(

Twins

Well actually these two are part of a trio of identical dolls. I have not heard why my customer wanted 3 dolls the same but I am thinking maybe there are a lucky group of triplets recieving these or maybe they look like the girls mother? who knows but I am really glad that I had enough fabric to make some more!

BIG NEWS!!!

I have been holding on to this little (HUGE) secret for months and months. Canadian Family magazine wanted to put my dolls in their magazine. Natural Pod sent them some of my dolls to look at and they chose them for their annual toy guide. I was anticipating one little photo, and was SHOCKED!!! and EXCITED!! to see one on the COVER!!!

I cannot believe how awesome this whole doll making experience has been so far. I can't believe that in 9 months I have gone from one doll to being seen in a magazine. I want to thank all of you for your support.

*better photos to follow one I actually get one in print.. :)

I have had short hair for quite a while now, but I wanted a trim and boy oh boy did I get trim. I think I kinda like it, but I still take a second glance at the lack of hair. Oi!

Custom Order information

Natural Pod has just put up a new option for custom ordering. It;s really easy now to order a custom doll through their website now. We have set up this option to make invoicing much easier and less complicated for you! I will still be in contact with you if there is anything that I need to double check or ask. We have used basically the same format that I posted a few posts back, but now it's easier with drop downs! Go check it out!

Don't stop emailing me though! I love to hear from you!

Thanks for the customs

I just wanted to say thanks to the Mom's who have recently gotten in touch with me to have custom dolls made for their little girls. I would also like to say a big Thank You to Cynthia for spreading the word!!! Thanks so much Cynthia!

I have completed 4 in the last couple of weeks and it was my pleasure. You lovely ladies are helping me be a stay at home mom.
